The Sofitel impresses with its spaciousness, which is even more impressive considering that the hotel is in the heart of Munich’s densely populated center. Panoramic windows, high ceilings, and open spaces were created by architects Fred Angerer and Gerald Hadler. Built as the headquarters of the Royal Bavarian Post Office, the Italian Renaissance building played its original role until 1993. In 2004, the French hotel chain Sofitel moved in behind the landmarked façade.

Within its classical walls lies everything that discerning hotel guests could ask for: 24-hour service, a spa area (including a heated pool, sauna, steam bath, infrared cabin, and a Kneipp pool), two restaurants, and a bar that is always buzzing. And there are exceptionally comfortable mattresses too—“sleeping on clouds” is not an exaggeration here. On top of all that, the luxury hotel scores with its location. Right next to the main train station in the middle of the city center, you literally have Munich at your doorstep. You can get to the old town in just a few minutes on foot, and with S-Bahn, U-Bahn, and bus lines available at the train station, all other sights are easy to reach via public transportation.
