25hours Hotels announced the appointment of Jesper Soerensen as the general manager of its upcoming property 25hours Hotel Jakarta The Oddbird.

It’s a challenge made in heaven for Soerensen, who brings the global perspective of 23 years in lifestyle and luxury hospitality to this unique new addition in Jakarta.

A Danish national who speaks three languages, his career has taken him from Nicaragua to London, Doha, Miami, Los Angeles, Singapore, and the Maldives.

According to Soerensen: “My journey has brought me to Jakarta where I am truly thrilled and excited to lead a talented team to bring 25hours Hotel Jakarta The Oddbird to life. I believe our spaces, like the 25hours Hotels brand, are very unique. We aspire to be a home away from home for cultural chameleons who blur the boundaries between business and leisure and want what they want, when they want.”

Soerensen added that he also plans to bring the buzz to The Oddbird through collaborations, installations, pop-ups, and partnerships.

As he puts it: “We open-heartedly welcome all Oddbirds, those who celebrate their individuality, but want to feel at home in their flock, and be free to soar.”

An eclectic eyrie

Impeccably connected to the heart of the Sudirman Central Business District (SCBD) within District 8, 25hours Hotel Jakarta The Oddbird rises 38 stories above Ashta Mall in the bustling Senopati district, one of the city’s top business and lifestyle destinations.

Drawing inspiration from the neighbourhood’s original conception as a garden city within a city, the hotel offers 210 lush garden rooms and retro urban rooms, each furnished with original vintage mid-century pieces and curated local and international art, evoking both nostalgia and the fleeting nature of time, as well as 135 serviced apartments, 11 creative lounges and a ballroom.

Co-working spaces with a maxi bar, along with uniquely themed meeting rooms, cater to those embracing hustle culture. All the public areas will be furnished with an eclectic mix of original mid-century modern pieces.

Vida Spa offers a tranquil retreat and world of wellness, connected to an outdoor infinity pool. Think blissful sunbed where guests can lounge, savouring plant-based snacks and sipping ABV Pina Coladas.

25hours Things Shop connects to Ashta Mall; a fascinating wonderland of sustainable treasures and upcycling curation, and a showcase for local crafts.

Guests can take a culinary journey at COPA, with Latin American dishes crafted by Chilean executive chef Matias Mardones, savour cocktails at THE ODDBIRD BAR headed by Marcello Monte from Argentina, or relax by the pool enjoying plant-based food in CABANA orchestrated by the renowned Andrew Yap from The Old Man Bar Singapore, a fixture in the top 50 Asia and World’s Best Bars.

Two more exciting F&B concepts are coming on the rooftop, set to be announced in Q1-2025.

True to its name, 25hours Hotel The Oddbird is a place of contrasts, where nostalgia goes back to the future, inviting guests to be themselves, be anyone they want and just be.

Soerensen said: “[Here,] ‘Come As You Are’ is more than just a slogan. It’s the living, breathing essence of 25hours Hotels, and I’m excited to bring it to life in Jakarta.”
