NEWS – Remember when most smartphones had a built-in microSD card slot? “Most” as in Android phones? The iPhone never had that luxury, but now it can – at least if you have an iPhone 12 through iPhone 15 series phone. The iRe5 Storage Case looks like an ordinary ruggedly styled case, but in the camera bump area, there’s a built-in microSD card slot. With a max capacity of 1T, you can add a crap ton (tech term, look it up) of storage to your phone to make it more convenient for recording 4K ProRes video or for anything else like apps and files.
Caveats? There are a couple. First of all, there isn’t a version for the iPhone 16 series yet, and more notably, the case also plugs into the Lightning or USB-C port on the bottom of the iPhone.
