Akasa Air, India’s rapidly expanding carrier, is dedicated to enhancing safety and security by collaborating with the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) to observe Aviation Security Culture Week from August 5th to 11th, 2024. This observance aligns with ICAO guidelines and focuses on bolstering the collective commitment to security in aviation. It serves as a reminder that security is a shared responsibility, with each individual playing a critical role in fostering a robust security framework.

This year’s theme, “Enhancing Passenger Security through Effective Divestment,” highlights the critical role of efficient screening processes in securing the aviation environment. The week is aimed at raising awareness and implementing best practices in security screenings.

Akasa Air actively supports this initiative by educating passengers on the importance of efficient screening through social media, airport signs, and SMS alerts, advising them on the proper procedures and the importance of avoiding prohibited items. The airline also hosts educational activities and training sessions at its facilities, complemented by digital campaigns and a company-wide pledge ceremony to promote conscientious behavior and enhance security awareness.

Supporting the Aviation Security Culture initiative, Vinay Dube, Founder and CEO, Akasa Air said, “At Akasa Air, our foremost priority is the safety and well-being of our passengers and crew. We recognize that ensuring safe operations is about fostering a proactive, safety-oriented mindset at every level of our organisation. We have partnered with the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security to observe Aviation Security Culture Week and reinforce our commitment to aviation safety, security, and excellence. We are dedicated to continuously improving our practices and working collaboratively to uphold the trust placed in us by our valued customers and stakeholders of the industry.”

Akasa Air has quickly become a preferred airline in India, thanks to its consistent on-time performance, operational efficiency, and overwhelmingly positive customer feedback.
