Anta Sports Products Limited has acquired Jack Wolfskin, a prominent German outerwear, footwear and equipment brand, from Topgolf Callaway Brands for $290 million, the Chinese sportswear company announced Thursday. The deal is slated to be finalised by the end of the second quarter or by early third quarter of 2025.

Founded in 1981 and headquartered in Idstein, Germany, Jack Wolfskin is known for its development of functional technologies such as its waterproof Texapore materials.

The move will diversify Anta Sports’ outdoor apparel categories and, as Anta Group chairman Ding Shizhong announced in a statement, aligns with the group’s “single-focus, multi-brand, globalisation” strategy.

Topgolf Callaway Brands acquired Jack Wolfskin in 2018 for $476 million, nearly double the sum Anta Sports has purchased it for.

In recent years, the global outdoor market has accelerated rapidly, particularly in China. As of January 2025, Jack Wolfskin operates 495 locations worldwide, mainly in Europe and Asia.
