WARNING! Major Spoilers Ahead for Daredevil: Born Again Episodes 1 & 2!

Daredevil is back, as Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) has finally been given his own series set within the MCU. Daredevil: Born Again premiered on March 4, with the first two episodes currently available to stream on Disney+. New episodes will be released weekly, although, given how heartbreaking the first two were, some are scared to dive back in each week. Born Again was marketed as being an unofficial Season 4 to the original Daredevil show, with Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson), The Punisher (Jon Bernthal), and Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) all making the jump from the original show. That’s why it came as a massive surprise when Foggy was killed off in the first 15 minutes of Born Again, leaving many heartbroken. However, there’s a chance his death might not be as permanent as you think.

In the opening scene of Daredevil: Born Again at Josie’s Bar, Foggy is killed by Benjamin Poindexter (Wilson Bethel), a.k.a. Bullseye. While it seems that Foggy’s time in the MCU might be over right as it started, one X (formerly Twitter) user pointed out that there may be more to his death than meets the eye. Per @DDevilUpdates on X, the scene features a blink and you’ll miss it Easter egg. They noted that the address of the Nelson, Murdock & Page law firm is 468. This is a reference to Daredevil: The Man Without Fear! issue #468, in which Foggy Nelson fakes his own death, with the issue titled “The Secret Life of Foggy Nelson.

Charlie Cox Shares Emotional Reaction to ‘Daredevil: Born Again’s Shocking Opening Episode

Longtime ‘Daredevil’ fans were left shaken due to the shocking moment.

In the issue, Foggy Nelson was stabbed when he went to visit Matt Murdock in prison. After recovering, Foggy was offered the chance to go into witness protection to escape those trying to kill him to get to Daredevil. Some believe that the Easter egg could hint that Foggy’s death in Born Again might not be as conclusive as we originally thought. If the show decides to follow this path, it could undermine the emotional toll Foggy’s death caused in Episode 1. However, fans are also incredibly upset that Foggy’s time in Born Again was so abrupt.

Karen and Foggy Will Return in ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 2

Even though it is unclear if Foggy’s death in Daredevil: Born Again will be permanent, we already know that the character will still have some kind of future in the MCU. Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson have already been confirmed to be returning for Season 2 of Born Again.

This was confirmed shortly after the first two episodes premiered on Disney+. Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios’ head of television, streaming, and animation, said that Karen and Foggy will always be “intrinsically tied” to Matt Murdock’s story. He continued:

“I don’t think there’s a Matt Murdock story without these two characters, and I’m excited to see them both in Season 2 as well… without going into spoiler territory, I will say that both Deborah Ann [Woll] and Elden [Henson] are coming back for Season 2.”
