Chris Brown Arrested in Manchester Over 2023 Bottle Assault
In breaking entertainment news, Chris Brown was arrested early this morning (May 15, 2025) at The Lowry Hotel in Manchester, UK. The R&B singer is being held on suspicion of grievous bodily harm related to a 2023 incident at London’s Tape nightclub in Mayfair.
According to the Metropolitan Police, the arrest is tied to an alleged bottle attack on music producer Abe Diaw. The incident reportedly occurred on February 19, 2023, where Brown is accused of striking Diaw multiple times with a tequila bottle, resulting in serious injuries that required medical attention.
Brown, 36, had just arrived in Manchester hours before his arrest, presumably for rehearsals ahead of the UK leg of his highly anticipated “Breezy Bowl XX” tour, which kicks off in three weeks. His private jet landed late Wednesday night, and he was taken into custody shortly after 2:00 AM local time on Thursday.
“The suspect remains in custody while investigations continue,” said a statement from the Met.
