Staff members on the site attempted to limit the amount of merchandise the fan could buy, only aggravating the customer as a heated discussion broke out, and the authorities were called once the argument turned physical.
The “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” Anime Pillar Exhibition is a special event that is running through the spring season from April 24th to June 22nd, focusing entirely on the Hashira by placing them in the spotlight with new limited-edition merchandise. There’ll be stunning new visuals depicting the individual Elemental Pillars that fans have all come to know and adore, and while these goods will only be displayed and available for purchase at the Fukuoka venue in Fukuoka City, Japan, it’s still important to be mindful and kind to the staff rules that are set in place so these events may continue in the future.

The alleged assailant was a 28-year-old Chinese woman who works in Fukuoka City’s Nishi Ward. At approximately 10:30 a.m. at the Demon Slayer exhibit, she attempted to purchase nearly all of the exclusive can badges that were being sold at the Anime Pillar Exhibition event. Since this pop-up shop only has so many wares on hand, there was a limit established beforehand that warranted customers could only purchase so many badges to allow room for others to also come by and purchase them.

Demon Slayer is undoubtedly one of the best shōnen series to have gained traction in not only Japan but globally, thanks to the success of the Mugen Train movie and Netflix picking up the anime, bringing it to the mainstream. But while it is a high-grossing franchise, it should be stated that special events celebrating how far the adventures of Tanjiro and the Hashira have come can only continue to be done as long as attendees are mindful during said exhibitions. If they are received well, fans can expect to see more exciting pop-ups.
