On the day-to-day, I want to look put together and—just as importantly—feel good. That’s why there are two main things I wear on repeat: breezy dresses and pull-on pants with elevated details. J.Crew Stratus Pants in Textured Satin

J.Crew’s Stratus Pants are the stylist-recommended pull-on trousers that our fashion editors are (understandably) obsessed with. Available in sizes XXXS through 3XL, three inseam lengths, and eight colors, the pants have a loose wide-leg and stretchy waistband, giving them a sweatpant-like feel. But despite being extremely comfortable, they’re remarkably chic thanks to a couple of details: two welt pockets at the back and an expensive-looking textured satin. 

The satin has a pretty sheen to it and small crinkles—the texture is a life-saver, letting wrinkles go unnoticed. Thanks to that, editors, including myself, swear by these for travel: you can crumple them up, shove them into a suitcase, pull them back out, and put them on without ever having to take out a steamer. On a recent trip to Europe, these pants got more wear than my basic white tee. They were comfortable enough for a 12-hour flight and long days touring Rome, and then actually looked nice enough to wear to dinner.
