Malaysian passport moves to 11th place on the Henley Passport Index

Henley & Partners’ Henley Passport Power Index reports that the Malaysian passport surged into 11th place in its rankings in October of this year.

Malaysian passport holders presently enjoy visa-free entry into 183 out of 227 global destinations, a significant increase from 179 in 2023.

This is Malaysia’s highest ranking since 2014, reflecting the growing strength of its reputation.

Likewise, this makes Malaysia one of only three Southeast Asian nations in the Henley Power 20, as Singapore is ranked first globally and Brunei remains in 20th place.

Vietnam, however, slid to 91st place in the most recent rankings. The Vietnamese passport only allows visa-free access to 51 nations as of October 2024.
