Ohio Tourism Reports Warren County’s Remarkable $1.7 Billion Impact for 2023

Warren County, Ohio’s tourism economy has soared to new heights, per a recent report. The study by Tourism Economics and TourismOhio reveals that Warren County’s tourism industry generated a record $1.7 billion in economic impact in 2023, marking a 17% increase from 2021, the last time the study was conducted.

The report also highlighted that Warren County turism supported 13,567 jobs in 2023, representing about 9.2% of the county’s private workforce, making it the second-most tourism-dependent county in Southwest Ohio. These tourism-driven jobs contributed $403.3 million in wages and generated $217.1 million in tax revenue for federal, state, and local governments.

In total, a record 13.4 million people visited Warren County’s events and attractions in 2023. The study identified the top spending categories as recreation, retail, transportation, lodging, and food & beverage.

Known as Ohio’s Largest Playground, Warren County boasts numerous popular attractions including Kings Island, Great Wolf Lodge, Miami Valley Gaming, Caesar Creek State Park, the Warren County Sports Park at Union Village (WC Sports Park), and the Cincinnati Open, which recently secured a 25-year extension to remain in the county.

The WC Sports Park, owned and operated by the WCCVB, generated a $100 million economic impact last year by hosting 51 events, attracting over 1.2 million guests, and generating more than 93,500 room nights in Warren County hotels. Warren County Sports, the sports tourism division of the WCCVB, drove a total economic impact of $125 million in 2023 and was named the Sports Tourism Organization of the Year by the Sports Events & Tourism Association (Sports ETA) in May. The WCCVB does not disclose annual attendance figures for other Warren County attractions.
