Samsung is preparing for the release of its new flagship smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, which is expected to launch globally in January 2025 along with the S25 series. Numerous leaks and rumours about this upcoming smartphone have surfaced online, suggesting it will feature flat edges on all sides, a new design, and a lighter weight compared to its predecessor. Additionally, reports indicate that the phone may include a new 50MP ultra-wide camera with an f/1.9 aperture. In this post, we share the expected specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra based on recent leaks and reports. These specifications have not been confirmed or officially released by Samsung.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Expected Specifications and Features

According to some reports, the S25 Ultra is expected to come with a 6.8-inch Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X display, offering a 1440 x 3120 pixels resolution and HDR 10+ support. The latest leaks suggest that the device will measure 162.8 x 77.6 x 8.2mm and weigh 219 grams. It will be 13 grams lighter than the previous model. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is anticipated to be powered by Qualcomm’s flagship 3nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset with the Adreno 830 GPU. It is likely to come with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, offering up to 1TB of capacity. In terms of the user interface, it will run on One UI 7 based on Android 15.

Now, for the camera, which remains a key highlight of the Samsung S Ultra series. The S25 Ultra will be Samsung’s best camera smartphone to date. According to the latest leaks, it will feature a quad-camera setup on the rear. This setup will include a 200MP primary camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and an f/1.7 aperture.  A new 50MP ISOCELL JN3 ultra-wide camera with an f/2.0 aperture. A 50MP periscope telephoto lens with an f/3.4 aperture and 5x optical zoom. And a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and an f/2.4 aperture.

The new 50MP ISOCELL JN3 will significantly improve low-light performance, delivering clearer and brighter images. On the front, the S25 Ultra may feature a 12MP primary camera with an f/2.2 aperture and Samsung’s AI features for amazing selfies. Reports from various sources suggest the phone will pack a 5,000mAh battery, supporting either 65W or 45W fast charging.

 

S25 Ultra Price and Launch Date

Samsung is expected to release its Galaxy S25 series, including the S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra smartphones, globally in January 2025. The starting price of the S25 is expected to be around USD $799. While the premium Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to start at USD $1,399.
