‘Suits LA’ Is All Smiles In New Series Premiere Images

A new adventure in the Suits world begins on Sunday, February 23, when Suits LA premieres on NBC. Created by original series creator Aaron Korsh, the show follows Ted Black (Stephen Amell), a former federal prosecutor from New York who moves to Los Angeles and reinvents himself representing some of the most powerful clients in the city, even while something from his past haunts him. New episodes air on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET. The logline below for the series premiere teases a fast-paced affair as Ted and Stuart (Josh McDermitt) try merging with another firm, but there’s a problem. NBC released some new images from the pilot episode “Seven Times a Week and Twice on Sunday,” which show the characters in various places but with an air of happiness.

“Attorney Ted Black and partner Stuart Lane are about to merge with a firm run by Ted’s ex. Associates Rick and Erica vie for position in the firm, but when the merger hits a snag, Ted, a former prosecutor, must step into a role he holds in contempt.”

‘Suits LA’ Is Open for Business

The above images show the main characters in various scenes from the series premiere. Amell is pictured as Ted and seems to be enjoying a night out. He has a huge smile on his face, no doubt enjoying the conversation with the person on the other side. Has he not learned of his upcoming merger troubles, or has he already solved the problem? McDermitt plays Stuart, Ted’s partner. Several images show him in various places, including two on a phone call. They tease some duality as he listens keenly in one and smiles in another. The associates are putting in their time in the office, even though Erica (Lex Scott Davis) seems to be having more fun than Rick (Bryan Greenberg). Has she beaten him and won the position? It would explain her confident smile and posture.

Fans of the original series will have a special reason to appreciate the new series. Gabriel Macht played Harvey Specter in the 2011 series, and he is set to reprise his role for a three-episode arc in the offshoot. It was revealed that Harvey and Ted are long-time friends, and when Ted’s firm hits a crisis, Harvey comes in to help. Korsh explained why they decided to have Macht appear in the new show. “The network very much wanted one original member. If you watch, you’ll see that from a story standpoint Harvey made the most sense. I originally wrote this as its own thing not a Suits spin off so I’m not sure what that says about how I look at either one,” he said.
