With how long Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso could run for, we might literally be Richmond ’till we die. Actor Moe Jeudy-Lamour, who plays Thierry Zoreaux aka Van Damme/Zorro in the hit soccer series, starring Jason Sudeikis as the titular coach, might have just accidentally revealed Apple’s plans for renewing Ted Lasso… and the streamer is going for a hat trick. Ted Lasso first debuted in 2020 and ran for three seasons, coming to a close in 2023 with a heartbreaking final season. Many fans assumed that Season 3 was the last, considering Ted left AFC Richmond to be with his son in America. Series star Nick Mohammed recently got fans riled up for an AFC Richmond comeback, with a potential fourth season. However, Apple’s plans seem to be much bigger than that.

Jeudy-Lamour recently let it slip in an interview (which was shared on X by @stuckinrevmode) that Apple TV+ has big plans for Ted Lasso in the future, which could see the show double its overall length. He wasn’t massively provoked to reveal anything major, and didn’t intend to. “I haven’t heard anything,” the actor said. However, his definition of “anything” might differ greatly from the folks at Apple TV+’s PR team, as he then dropped a major bombshell:

“All I know is that they’ve signed for, I believe, three more seasons.”

Hilariously, Jeudy-Lamour closed out his bombshell answer with a nonchalant “but that’s all I know.” The reveal of Season 4 being in the works was already a welcome surprise. Many fans assumed that Season 4 would be a last hoorah for Ted Lasso, with the manager potentially coming back to Richmond to lead their new women’s team. However, our assumptions about Ted Lasso are as unpredictable as the game of soccer itself. What Apple has planned for three more seasons of Ted Lasso is anyone’s guess.

Juno Temple Doesn’t Want Any ‘Ted Lasso’ Spin-Offs

As well as the show’s renewal, there have also been rumors of several characters from Ted Lasso receiving spin-offs. Keeley (played by Juno Temple) was a fan favorite throughout the first three seasons, and the character pitched the idea of a women’s team in the Season 3 finale. As a result, many want Keeley to receive her own spin-off, focusing on the women’s team. That said, Juno Temple believes there shouldn’t be any spin-offs. “The idea of a spin-off with Ted Lasso is a complicated one for me,” the actress told Entertainment Weekly, continuing:

“Because it so feels like a team that I don’t know if I would want to do a spin-off. I don’t want to be a part of it if everybody else isn’t. It’s a team. It’s a real team!”

We can now confidently cross this name off the list.

It seems that Apple’s PR team managed to brief Temple before her interview, as the actress only commented on Ted Lasso‘s fourth season, saying, “it sounds like there might be a season 4.” As for what she wants to see in future seasons, Temple hopes it focuses on the women’s team. “Women’s football is something that is so exciting — especially in England, we’ve been doing so well,” she began. “But I think it’s something that… I don’t know, who knows? It would be a great storyline.”
