Compared to its mid-range counterpart, the Pixel 9a, the Pixel 9 is notably more durable and features a more premium design. While the Pixel 9a uses the older Corning Gorilla Glass 3 to protect its screen, the Pixel 9 is equipped with the newer and stronger Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on both the front and back of the device.

The Pixel 9 also has an edge over the Pixel 9a in terms of RAM. It boasts 12GB of RAM, while the Pixel 9a has only 8GB. For gaming, multitasking, and AI tasks, the Pixel 9 will perform significantly better in the long run due to its additional 4GB of RAM. Furthermore, the Pixel 9 supports AI features that the Pixel 9a lacks, such as the Pixel Screenshots app.
