90 Day Fiancé star Shekinah Garner has made a surprising decision about her future with Sarper Güven, and it may mean leaving the show. Shekinah, a 43-year-old aesthetician from Los Angeles, met Sarper, also 43, while vacationing in Turkey with a friend. Despite Sarper’s initial lack of interest in a serious relationship and his past with over 3,000 women, the two had an instant connection. Something about the California native seemed to change him. Sarper, once a self-proclaimed bad boy, appeared ready to turn over a new leaf for Shekinah.

Sarper also had anger issues, which were revealed during the couple’s arguments. He wished for Shekinah to look and act a certain way. Shekinah defended Sarper’s behavior. Perhaps she was waiting for Sarper to come to America so she could give him a taste of his own medicine. Sarper didn’t enjoy his new life in the U.S. Everything from Shekinah’s house to his losing his independence made Sarper want to go back to his country. By episode 11, Shekinah and Sarper were in a rocky place. “We have to break up or get well again, nothing in between,” he declared.

Shekinah Announced Her Possible Exit From 90 Day Fiancé

What Shekinah’s Posts Reveal About Her Relationship Status

Considering this timeline, Sarper and Shekinah are now husband and wife and will presumably document their wedding in the 90 Day Fiancé season 11 finale. However, Shekinah’s recent Instagram Stories point to the possibility that she and Sarper are no longer together. First, Shekinah shared an update with a list of things she captioned, “you know what really sucks?” (via therealitytvmess). Shekinah mentioned things such as her being “ignored when you’re hurt, sick, emotional,” “feeling alone because your partner is always checked out,” and even “being told ‘if you get too skinny or fat I will leave you.’

Shortly after, Shekinah decided to answer some questions from fans (via rewatchreality.) One of her followers wanted to know if Shekinah was going through a “rough patch” with Sarper. Shekinah told the fan, “Let’s just say you probably won’t see us on anymore seasons.” To a different fan who asked if she and Sarper were doing okay, Shekinah wrote, “nothing about this is easy.” In a different reply, Shekinah mentioned that Sarper had not “calmed down” since he came to the U.S., and instead, living together in America had made everything harder for them.

Could Fan Support Influence Shekinah’s Decision?

Shekinah and Sarper’s storyline on 90 Day Fiancé season 11 shows them going through a rough patch, with Shekinah even reconsidering her decision to marry Sarper. She admitted feeling “foolish” about applying for his K-1 visa. It’s likely that Shekinah is using social media to react to the on-screen tension, and that her posts aren’t necessarily about the real-time situation in her relationship. To viewers, Shekinah and Sarper seem made for each other. The only reason they’d have relationship problems is if they were headed to a couples’ therapy show.

90 Day Fiancé airs Sundays at 8 p.m. EDT on TLC.
