• Jennifer Garner has shared on numerous occasions that she is a fan of Virtue Labs’s hair care products.
  • The brand’s Texturizing Spray provides hold and definition without making hair sticky or crunchy.
  • Amazon shoppers claim it makes their hair look denser, and you can shop it for as low as $40 right now.

When you have fine hair, the wrong hair product can turn a good hair day into a bad one very quickly. If I use the wrong hairspray, my fine hair will become a sticky, tangled mess that can only be fixed with a thorough shampooing—and I say that with more experience than I’d like. As a beauty editor, I’m constantly testing new products, but the hairspray category is the one I stay the most loyal to so I can avoid the aforementioned inconvenience. And also because I’ve found a hairspray that makes my fine hair soft, glossy, and can hold a curl all day long. Enter Virtue’s Texturizing Spray. It’s one of my many favorites from the Jennifer Garner and Nicole Kidman-used brand, and I think all hair types can love it.

Virtue’s Texturizing Spray doubles as a hairspray and texturizer in one; it adds grit and definition to the hair, but it can also provide hold for your style. This cuts out another product in my most-extra hair care routine, and I’m so here for that. I wash my hair about twice a week so I find that the less products I use, the better it typically lasts.

This hairspray is formulated with the brand’s proprietary Alpha Keratin 60ku protein; a keratin protein that’s identical to the one in our hair, skin, and nails to help repair damage and strengthen. Plus, hydrolyzed wheat protein and aloe extract to improve the sheen and texture of the hair and provide long-lasting moisturizing effects. Hairspray’s high percentage of alcohol can often make your hair feel dry, but this one doesn’t.

When I use this hairspray, my hair stays flexible, and soft to the touch to the point I can run my fingers through it without the dreaded hairspray crunch. It keeps my hair luminous and bouncy, especially at the roots, and I can use it to hold my curls for a few days, since I don’t wash my hair daily. I also love using it for slickback buns and updos—it’ll tame any frizzy flyaways and it’ll give my hair extra shine, plus all-day hold and UV protection.

Amazon reviewers say this texturizing spray is “not sticky and holds beautifully,” while another  reviewer with thin, aging hair claims it makes it look like they have “more hair.” Finally, another reviewer with thin hair highlights the “volume without being sticky.” The price is higher than your average hairspray but I’ve been using the same can for the past year (multiple times a week), and there’s still a significant amount of product left. A little goes a long way.

Stiff, sticky hairsprays that make it impossible to run your fingers through your hair without pulling some hairs out are my biggest ick, but Virtue’s Texturizing Spray could be further from that. Shop it on Amazon, and more products for fine hair, below.
