Fans are worried that Cyril Robinson, played by Zephryn Taitte, might be leaving Call the Midwife. He is an émigré to the U.K. and the husband of Lucille, who first appeared in Season 8 as a recurring character. Lucille left him and went to Jamaica after the couple experienced a heartbreaking miscarriage.

Now, the show is more focused on the new connection between Cyril and Rosalind. But will his alleged exit scare put an end to their story and bond? Here are the details.

Is Zephryn Taitte’s Cyril Robinson leaving Call the Midwife?

There are no confirmed reports about Cyril Robinson’s departure from Call the Midwife.

Rumors about his exit began when Taitte hinted at Cyril’s fate by the end of the Season 14 finale, which is expected to premiere in May 2025 in the U.S. He told HELLO! that his character would be surrounded by trouble by the end of the series. He said, “[Cyril will be] in a lot of trouble. A lot of trouble.”

However, as the season unfolded, fans were reassured that there was more to explore in Cyril’s story. The finale primarily focused on Paula’s labor. Once the baby is born, Paula’s parents head to the Mother House. Meanwhile, Cyril and Rosalind become concerned about the baby’s future. Eventually, Paula’s mother expresses regret for how she handled her daughter’s pregnancy and entrusts Cyril with finding the baby a new home.

During Nancy and Roger’s wedding ceremony, Cyril and Rosalind share their first kiss, teasing further exploration of their love story in the upcoming season (via Woman & Home).

While worries about Cyril’s departure lingered throughout the season, they were ultimately eased when the season concluded. Even Natalie Quarry, who plays Rosalind, hinted at her and Cyril’s future on the show by the series’ end. She said, “Look, I don’t want to spoil it for anyone, but it isn’t the end of their story. That’s all I’m going to say.”

This suggests that Cyril might not be going anywhere anytime soon.
