“Is there anything in this world better than punching somebody in the face whose got it coming?!” Amazon MGM has unveiled a second trailer for The Accountant 2, the long-awaited sequel to Ben Affleck’s crime thriller The Accountant from 2016. Who’s ready to hang with the brothers again? Ben Affleck returns as Christian Wolff – an autistic accountant who applies his brilliant mind & illegal methods to reconstruct the unsolved puzzle behind a Treasury chief’s murder by assassins. “Do you like puzzles?” Both Affleck and his “brother” Jon Bernthal are back in The Accountant 2 – arriving in theaters in April this spring. As they get closer to the truth, they draw the attention of some of the most ruthless killers alive — all intent on putting a stop to their search for the killer. The movie stars Ben Affleck, Jon Bernthal, J.K. Simmons, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Daniella Pineda, as well as Robert Morgan. This just premiered at the 2025 SXSW Film Festival last month and it ended up winning the Audience Award there. It’s amusing that this sequel is pretty much an Affleck & Bernthal hang-out movie, letting them banter while arranging the shootout plans.

Christian Wolff (Ben Affleck) has a talent for solving complex problems. When an old acquaintance is murdered, leaving behind a cryptic message to “find the accountant,” Wolff is compelled to solve the case. Realizing more extreme measures are necessary, Wolff recruits his estranged and highly lethal brother, Brax (Jon Bernthal), to help them. In partnership with U.S. Treasury Deputy Director Marybeth Medina (Cynthia Addai-Robinson), they uncover a deadly conspiracy, becoming targets of a ruthless network of killers who will stop at nothing to keep their secrets buried. The Accountant 2 is directed by the American filmmaker Gavin O’Connor, director of the films Comfortably Numb, Tumbleweeds, Miracle, Pride and Glory, Warrior, Jane Got a Gun, The Accountant, and The Way Back previously. The screenplay is written by Bill Dubuque (The Accountant, A Family Man, The Judge, “Ozark”). It’s produced by Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Lynette Howell Taylor, Mark Williams. Amazon MGM Studios will debut O’Connor’s sequel The Accountant 2 in theaters nationwide starting on April 25th, 2025 coming up this spring. Look any good?
